Alprazolam Online

Alprazolam is the most commonly used and also misused benzodiazepine drug. It is used in the treatment of anxiety associated with moderate depression. Alprazolam has anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic, anticonvulsant, and muscle relaxant properties.

The indications of Alprazolam are panic disorder and anxiety disorder. Alprazolam is indicated for short term treatment of panic disorders with or without agoraphobia. Short term treatment refers to treatment up to 8 weeks. As this is a drug that is prone for dependence and less efficacy if used longer than 8 weeks, most physicians prefer to use it for less than 8 weeks and they gradually reduce the dosage. If there is no history of dependence or tolerance then Alprazolam is the preferred treatment for the treatment of panic disorders.

The other indication for Alprazolam is to treat anxiety disorders. It is generally recommended for treatment of acute severe anxiety and the treatment course lasts for 2-4 weeks.

The side effects of Alprazolam are drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, vertigo, skin rashes, difficulty in breathing, constipation, suicidal ideas, short term memory loss, disorientation, ataxia, slurring of speech, and urinary retention. Other side effects such as the paradoxical reactions which include fasciculations, tremor, aggression, rage, hostility, mania, agitation, hyperactivity and restlessness occur then it is advisable to discontinue the medication.

The contraindications are pregnancy, lactation, people who already suffer from liver diseases, have suicidal tendencies, suffering from respiratory depression and chronic psychosis.

Alprazolam is also available online though it is only advisable to take it only on prescription. The general doses available are 0.25 mg to 2 mg. It is also available as extended release tablets of strengths 0.25 mg to 3 mg.
